October 18th, 2011 by Sophia Bendrodt

Hey dudes!  Read up, because this ones for you.

If you seem to be having trouble perfecting your game with the ladies (or gentlemen, we support all here), even after going on endless OkCupid dates, designer Kenneth Cole feels your pain and is here to help.  And as a bonus?  Hell make you smell better too.

To go along with the release of their newest mens fragrance Connected ($67.50), an adrenaline rush of masculinity for the modern man on the go, Kenneth Cole Reaction has launched a digital campaign called Connecting 101, which through a series of web videos, aims to build up your confidence, show you what youre doing wrong and provide you with useful info to successfully get that girl or guy.

The five comedic webisodes, which can be seen on a site specially created for the campaign are centered around writer and cult hipster Gavin McInnes (ahem, co-founder of Vice) who plays the connecting expert in several different dating/pick-up situations.  Also on the site, youll find next-step advice for making that intimate connection as well as a mobile version, useful for providing quick one-liners and tips when youre really in need.

To get you started-  here, McInnes tells you how to not let your ego get in the way:

Now go get em rico suave.  You got this.

fall weekend – tall

October 15th, 2011 by Sophia Bendrodt

Ive written about plus-size and petite style but never tall.  Today, I figure, this is for the tall girls but even if youre not, there is something for everyone here.  Many folks think that being tall is easy but finding things long enough is always a challenge.  I am really thankful that Gap Inc offers tall sized clothing!  I also like it when denim designers do the 36 inseam versus the average  32 inseam which can only be worn with flats when you are tall (AG Jeans!!)

Todays look is perfect for the weekend and provides just the right length and proportion to make a tall gal feel stylish for those impromptu gatherings with friends.

  • DKNY Scoop Neck Pullover, $195.  Since the sleeves are 3/4, you dont have to worry about length and the pullover is long enough to wear with a skirt (shown) or skinny jeans.
  • Velvet Luella Fur Vest, $165.  This cropped faux fur vest plays with the proportions nicely by balancing the long tunic and bringing the eye up to your beautiful face.
  • Fold-over jersey skirt, $15. Gotta

October 13th, 2011 by Oscar Farber

With her strikingly familiar face, daring dress sense and celebrity pals, it’s not hard to figure out who this Material Girl’s mum is. But as she celebrates her 15th birthday today, Lourdes Leon seems to have inherited more than just Madonna’s looks.

And at an age when most girls are convinced they’ll never turn into their mum, Madonna’s Mini-Me revealed she’s more than happy to be ‘like mother, like daughter’.

“My mom definitely inspires me,” says Lourdes, whose dad is personal trainer Carlos Leon.

“She inspires me to want to push myself and be the best that I can be.
